Too Many Cookies

Hey, Ya’ll!

Welcome back to PEP and Short Tale Monday.

This weekend I did something that I used to do all the time back in Tyler. But between my schedule and tighter budget due to the metroplex’s cost of living, I haven’t been able to do it much up here.

I went shopping, picking my favorite stores and those of my mom’s since she went with me, shopping is more fun with friends 9 times out of 10. We’ll be going again in August-when I’m next available on a Saturday- as due to a hair appointment we had this morning, we didn’t get to all of the stores. Besides, that’ll give me something to look forward to in August and it allows plenty of time at each store without worrying about getting too tired.

The ones we shopped at this weekend were Lane Bryant, Michaels and Target. I got quite a haul.

First up is Lane Bryant:

I got a casual shirt that says Be Your Own Kind of Perfect with very pretty flowers and a pair of camo pants. I’ve never had a pair of camo pants as I’ve never seen them in the stores I shop in, in my size. But I tried these on, they fit perfect and are so soft.

Next is Michael’s- I had a coupon here and a few crafts in mind that I wanted to continue work on and/or try:

I do a lot of jewelry making and managed to find a board for beading necklaces that would allow me to measure and keep beads from rolling. I’ve seen a lot of things with fuse beads on Pinterest lately that I want to try, I was fairly good with them as a kid. I do a lot of paper-crafts so I’m always looking for stamps. I’m always looking for more paint as I work with it a lot, and I’m currently out of canvasses of a larger size. Macrame looks fun and I managed to find a kit that looked simple enough, I always enjoy soap that smells good-as cucumber melon does- and I actually don’t know what I’ll do with the glitter glue yet but it was only 99 cents and my favorite color.

Next and last for Saturday was Target. I Love Target. I didn’t used to but they have a lot of really good stuff that’s pretty inexpensive, especially their $5 or less section.

My office has needed a clock and I love the mint color, I need the surge protector for when I’m traveling so I can stop searching for plugs for my computers and charging cords. I love Scooby Doo and those are movies I don’t own and a 4 in 1 is always a great deal. I collect movies- most often Disney, horror and other movies that I will watch again- so Sing was a good deal. I love Beauty and Special Effects Make-up. (Any fellow Face Off fans?) I’m practicing with it myself and have wanted some NYX make-up as they’re supposed to be the best. I found these eye shadow pallets and the lip gloss that is supposed to be Watermelon Taffy. It doesn’t show in the picture but it’s actually a really pretty pink. I’m always looking to organize my magazine sheets, paper crafts, writing papers and my current expanding organizers are getting full. So I got a large one.

I’ll tell ya’ll about my shopping spree in August after we’ve gone. Right now, it’s supposed to be for mid-August.

Linked below is my latest story in my Medium Publication Sunday Fabricated Stories.

A Treasured Heart

Here’s this week’s Monday Short Tale.

He collapsed on the couch, barely repressing a groan.

“There’s still so many left.”

He dropped his head back onto the couch at Kelly’s comment, losing his battle and groaning in misery.

“We need help. We can’t eat all of these.”

“Not before they go bad anyway.”

“Whose bright idea was this?”

“Not mine.”

“Wasn’t mine.”

They both peered at Randy who had already passed out from the sugar crash due to the batches of cookies he’d already eaten.

“Why are we doing this again?”

“Because we wanted the prize on the package of cookies. But in order to get it, we have to have the codes off 35 boxes of cookies.”

“And of course, we have to eat all of the cookies.”

“Of course. We can’t waste food just because we want a prize.”

Henry repeated his previous statement, “We need help.”

“Mental or physical?”

He gave her a sour look and she giggled.

“Sorry, couldn’t resist.”

She pulled out her phone, “I’m getting help, though. I’ve put a post out asking if anyone wants free cookies.”

“If it’s free, most people will sign up in a heartbeat.”

“That’s what I’m counting on.”

What do you think? Will they manage to eat all of those cookies? 35 boxes of cookies is quite a lot of cookies. Just what is this prize that they want so badly? I guess we’ll have to find out next time.

‘Til Next Time, Friends.
